Fall Seasonal Shelves 2012

Every time a new season comes around, I start looking for inspiration for my seasonal decor.  Sometimes I go with classic, sometimes it's whimsical, but it's almost always eclectic (meaning, I search my house and pull things together from all over the place).  And for my Fall shelves in the breakfast room this year, I took my inspiration from a little candle.  Glade® sent me their new, Limited Edition Autumn Harvest candle from the Glade Fall Collection.  It's described as smokey, woodsy, and mellow.  So I went with that theme, and came up with this look...

I borrowed the iron gate from my gallery wall in the library, and that gave me a good start down a "woodsy" path.  Then, I added my painted owl from last year and put some pumpkins on the same urns I had up there from Spring and Summer.

Another pumpkin on some moss in a lantern balances out the other end...

And (big surprise) I had to have a chalkboard in there somewhere, even if it is just a small one.

A small thrift store patterned plate layered on my large blue plattter adds the "mellow" feel up there beside my large mercury glass apothecary jar.
