Okay, I know some of you are saying what my husband said when I told him I was starting this project: "How many chalkboards do you need, Lady?" And my answer is always: "Just one more." While it's true that I have what might be classified as a slight chalkboard addiction, I do have a purpose in mind for each & every one of them. And this one will totally be put to good use.
It's my new extra-large pantry chalkboard & I hope it will help put an end to our problem of starting multiple lists for the things we need & never being able to track them all down when it's time to head to the store. This way, whenever we run out of something or think of something we need, anyone in the family can write it on the chalkboard. Then, when it's time to leave for the store, I'll just snap a quick picture of the list with my phone, & then it's with me when I get to the store. And if by chance I forget to take the picture before I leave, I'm hoping I can call my husband at home & sweet talk him into sending me the pic!
This is going to be so fun.
And if there's anyone still left out there who hasn't made a chalkboard & you're wondering how it's done, click here to see my previous posts on chalkboards. I made this latest one using the frame from a mirror I found at an estate sale a few months ago. I couldn't find a place for the mirror, so I decided to take it out & just use the frame. Amazingly, it was the perfect size to fit in our space in the pantry. I love it when that happens.
And now for a little announcement:
I've made a few changes on the blog. Many of you noticed my new header designed for me by my adorable husband. Thanks for all the kind remarks from those of you who said you like it!
And another bit of news is that I was recently contacted by the Christian card & gift company, DaySpring, and they asked if I would become one of their advertising affiliates. And although I know you're not here to be bombarded with ads, I believe in this company & love their products, & I think you will too, so click over to their site & take a look around at all the great home & gift ideas they have to offer! I know you'll find something you like.

You can never have too many chalkboards and this one is fabulous!

Love your new chalkboard! And - love DaySpring - lovely items.
ReplyDeleteI do not have a chalk board.. my hubs doesn't like the idea of them... so I think I may need to start small. Maybe a table top one to start with?? :o)
ReplyDeleteI would have a chalboard in every room of the house, but I guess that might be a bit much. Your chalkboard was just made for that spot!
ReplyDeleteI have 3 chalk boards and I want more...yours is very nice! My goal is one in everyroom! Shall we make it a contest!!! Congrats on the Dayspring advertising gig!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! I have been looking for the perfect sized frame, mirror, picture, whatever it may have been to transform into a chalkboard for my pantry door. Haven't found it yet. I might just have to break down and buy some trim! Planning on chalkboard painting both sides of my pantry door! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I never thought about snapping a pic of my grocery list. I was just thinking, why would I write my list on a chalkboard, only to have to write it all over again on paper before I leave for the store? I am totally going to do this! Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteSuper Cute. Still haven't made a chalkboard for myself. I'm trying to find the perfect spot for it in the kitchen...eventually I'll get there (:
